Elektron Shareholder Group

ELEKTRON SHAREHOLDER GROUP (ESG)

An introduction to ESG by Charles Breese, the Co-ordinator of ESG

ESG exists to provide the board of Elektron PLC with an economic means of treating as institutional shareholders those of its private shareholders collectively wishing to be so treated.

My interest in Elektron stems from early 2003 when my wife and I acquired shares in the company following the appointment of Adrian Girling (whom I have known for several years) as executive chairman.

With regard to my background, I am the controlling shareholder and director of Larpent Newton Holdings Limited, details of which can be found on www.lnhl.co.uk

ESG functions in the following manner:

  • the operation is overseen by the Co-ordinator and up to six Regional Representatives. The latter are in the process of being appointed.

  • the Co-ordinator (and those Regional Representatives who are able to attend) receive the same presentations as institutional investors are given, and convey information down the line (principally through the use of email in conjunction with the company's website) to ESG members.

  • collecting and presenting questions which members of ESG wish to put at General Meetings (provided that they are likely to yield data which will be of interest to most ESG members) and circulating the answers. This will assist those ESG members unable to attend such meetings.

You are welcome to join ESG. If you wish to do so, please complete the form below.
