Significant Shareholder

The Company was informed on 29 October 2007 that on 26 October 2007, Panther Securities purchased 500,000 Elektron ordinary shares ('Ordinary Shares') at a price of 17.75p per Ordinary Share, resulting in a total holding at that date of 10,750,000 Ordinary Shares, representing 12.39 per cent. of the Company's issued share capital.

The personal pension fund of Mr. Andrew Perloff, the Chairman of Panther Securities, also holds 5,010,909 Elektron Ordinary Shares.

Accordingly, Mr Andrew Perloff is interested in a total holding of 15,760,909 ordinary shares, or 18.17 per cent. of the Company's issued share capital.
